Silver Sparkles was sparked by one of our co-founders Helen Lim who is also the founder and CEO of Silver Spring Pte Ltd (www.silverspring.com.sg). Being an ex-HR practitioner with more than 40 years in the government and private sectors, she feels a lot for the well-being of our senior citizens (55 years old and above). Due to rapid ageing of our society, the Silver Tsunami is fast hitting our shores.

Helen wanted to explore a new business model that would allow the senior citizens to be productively engaged so as to remain gainfully employed with their available spare times yet without the high stress of the typical business money-churning environment. Hence she initiated a round table discussion with her network and roped in two other partners to co-found this social enterprise to promote the seniors’ cause.

Angela Toh is the Managing Director of AJA Ptd Ltd (www.aja.com.sg). She came up with this brilliant business idea
to receive orders for good quality corporate/event tee-shirts and work with the seniors from various Seniors Activities Centres to do the final processing work before delivery. These include light duty activities such as threads cutting, ironing and packing. This is like a re-introduction of the cottage industry we used to have in the sixties and seventies!
We call this the “SILVER-T PROJECT”.

Francis How is the Owner/Partner of John How Learning Hub (https://johnhowteacherforlife.wordpress.com/) and Co-founder/Director of Decisions480 Pte Ltd (www.decisions480.net).  He decided to chip in his operations experience and help to put the system in place to make it happen. With their combined experiences and efforts, viola! Silver Sparkles is ready to serve our customers’ needs in partnership with our seniors!
